Bowling Green Fire Department, 1898
The Bowling Green Fire Department was organized as a paid fire department in 1898 and provides fire suppression, rescue and first responder services to the city of Bowling Green, Kentucky (pop. approximately 54,000 or approximately 74,000 when Western Kentucky University is in session). 

Besides emergency response, we also educate thousands of people each year about fire safety, inspect occupancies within our city for fire code violations and investigate fire scenes to determine the origin and cause of fires.  Our suppression staff members work a 24 hour on/48 hour off schedule. 

We currently have 6 fire stations and 1 administrative office building.  Our Fire Insurance Rating (ISO) is Class 3.  In 2010, we responded to a total of 4,630 incidents.

(Includes the ranks of Firefighter, Sergeant, Captain & Assistant Chief)

(Includes local Fire Marshal, 2 Investigators/Inspectors, 1 Fire Prevention Educator/PIO and 1 Fire Code Inspector)

(Includes 1 Assistant Chief of Training and 1 Training Captain)
